Starting with the 2025 exam sitting, there are some exciting new changes to the CAS exams with increased testing frequency. Below is an overview of the changes and the exam schedule for 2025 and exam result information so that you can plan ahead.
Increased Testing Frequency For CAS Exams
Starting in 2025, the CAS will increase the frequency of exams to:
- Three times a year for MAS I and MAS II
- Twice per year for Exam 7
- In 2026: Twice per year for Exams 8 and 9
This is great news for candidates, allowing you to retake an upper-level exam the next sitting instead of waiting for a whole year and needing to relearn everything.

When is registration open for the CAS exams?
Registration for the Spring 2025 exams typically opens after Fall exam results are released.
You should register for the exam as early as possible. That way, you’ll be able to choose the best time slot and the most convenient Pearson Vue testing center for you.
Register for the exam on the CAS Exam Registration page.
When is the exam registration deadline?
Beginning in 2024, the CAS no longer has exam registration deadlines.
How do I register for a CAS exam?
To register for your next exam you need to both register for the exam through the CAS and schedule a testing appointment at a Pearson Vue testing center:
- Log in to your CAS account and register for the exam by the registration deadline for the sitting
- Go to the Online Store (linked in the header of a CAS web page) and go to the “Exams” category.
- As soon as you pay, you should see a button on the receipt saying “Take me to Pearson” to schedule an appointment.
- Schedule a Pearson Vue testing appointment you made through your linked online Pearson Vue account
- Go to the CAS Pearson Vue page to make an appointment.
- See the CAS Scheduling Guide for detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to register and schedule a testing appointment (from the CAS Pearson Vue site).
I highly recommend registering and scheduling a testing appointment as soon as you can so that you can find an appointment at a convenient time and testing location.
See the CAS Exam Registration page and CAS Pearson Vue page for more details.
When is the Refund Deadline?
The refund deadline is usually a few weeks before the start of the exam window.
To request a refund you need to do two things:
- Email refund@casact.org requesting a refund by the refund deadline for the sitting
- Cancel any Pearson Vue appointment you made through your online Pearson Vue account or through customer service (see the CAS Pearson Vue page)
See the Candidate FAQ page for more details on how to cancel your exam registration and get a refund.
When are CAS Exam Results Released?
CAS exam results for the upper-level exams (exams 5-9) are usually posted around 6-8 weeks after the end of the exam sitting. MAS I and MAS II results are sometimes posted earlier.
The CAS Exam Results page has more information and updates about when the exam results are released.
